Ernst & Young announces move to The East End

Akron’s East End development is getting another high-profile tenant. Ernst & Young LLP (EY) is moving its Akron office to 1200 E. Market St., the firm announced on Wednesday, Sept. 18. EY, which employs about 85 people at its current Akron office at 50 S. Main St. downtown, hopes to be in its new space by August 2020, the company said in a news release. An EY spokeswoman said the firm would occupy 11,809 square feet on one floor.

EY already has signed a lease for the site at East End, which was developed on Goodyear’s former corporate complex and is owned under a partnership between Industrial Realty Group LLC and Industrial Commercial Properties LLC. The firm plans to build out the space to fit its EY@Work initiative, which to aims to provide “energizing and efficient” environments for its workforce, the release said.

The East End

The East End is a dynamic, mixed-use, community. The 1.4 million square-foot site is comprised of Class A office space, sophisticated apartments, a 1,500-seat theater, a 20,000 square-foot gymnasium and a hotel. The live, work, play concept also features shopping and restaurants, making it Akron’s destination for entertainment, economic activity and comfortable living.
